Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, Bangalore – Molding Healthy Mind and Body through Yoga!

It was day 4 in Bangalore and my experience as a tourist was getting even better. Except for the heavy traffic, Bangalore is place for all people irrespective of age. You can have all that you want for a holiday- beautiful gardens, wildlife, parks, shopping areas and eateries. After visiting Bangalore Palace and planetarium, our next trip was going to be a different one. It was a journey to the land of peace and harmony. Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana located in Kempe Gowda Nagar. It is at a distance of 12 km from the hotel.

We had requested for a vehicle from the hotel, which arrived at 9am. We were prepared to leave after having a superb South Indian breakfast. My children were also keen to know about the unique organization, which trained children and youngsters to practice yoga for a lifelong healthy way of life. We arrived at the campus at around 9:45am. It is a vast campus and all buildings were painted in orange color. It reminded me of the saffron colored robes that Swami Vivekananda wore. It is better known as S-Vyasa campus.

The institution offers numerous courses to obtain graduation and post-graduation in Yoga Therapy. As we moved into the campus, we met a staff who helped us to know the aims of the institution. It is a deemed –to-be-university, which deals with spreading the knowledge about yoga and spirituality according to the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. By following the teachings and regular yoga, one can improve his/her personality largely. The Yoga University is unique as it offers education about Life training and character building.

The white statue of the divine chariot of Krishna and Arjuna with five horses depicting the story of Mahabharata in the campus is a major attraction. I am sure everyone will experience the divinity, spirituality and rich tradition of yoga in daily life. We saw many students and elderly persons who were regularly attending the yoga classes. Family and I enjoyed walking around the campus and knowing more about the yoga research center, center for ayurveda, cancer care center within the campus and so on. It is true that only a few people can dedicate life for great causes and they become heroes forever!
